A European film literacy travelling program, bringing a series of cultural and educational activities to four countries with low audiovisual production capacity, in company of great feature and short films, five young critics and film experts.

11:00 – 13:30 Masterclass on “Film Criticism” with the acclaimed French film critic Jean-Michel Frodon, Institut Francais d’Athenes, open event, registration required.
A presentation by the acclaimed French film critic and former Editor in Chief of Cahiers du Cinéma, Jean-Michel Frodon, on the power of writing film critique, and its abuse.
16:00 – 18:00 Masterclass with the Greek D.O.P Olympia Mytilinaiou (GSC), Booze Cooperativa, limited places available, registration required.
A presentation by the Greek Director of Photography of multi-awarded feature films, Olympia Mytilinaiou (GSC), on the creative use of light as a dramaturgical element in film.
20:00 – 23:00 Presentation of “The 5C Project” and screening of the multi-awarded Croatian feature film A Wonderful Night In Split/Ta Divna Splitska Noć by Arsen Anton Ostojić followed by a Q&A session with the editor of the film Dubravko Slunjski, Greek Film Archive, open and free to the public

An open dialogue between the 5 ambassadors, Maria Komninos (Director of the Greek Film Archive), Dimitris Kerkinos (Director of Balkan Survey of Thessaloniki FF), Jean-Michel Frodon, a team of film scholars and film industry professionals from the Balkans and the Athenian public, on representations of cities and local cultural identities on the celluloid screen.

The five young participants will create a blog, with the help of the organisers, a Facebook page and Instagram accounts, where they will upload texts and audio-visual content (e.g. Frodon’s and Mytilinaiou’s workshops and/or their own creations) and invite other young audience members and participants from Athens, to contribute with texts, videos and discussions. Any Internet surfer can leave comments, start a discussion and participate in several ways. During this period, they will be mentored by Ana Grgic and Marian Tutui via Skype (one session per person).
